| Great Ormond Street Hospital |
| Great Ormond Street Hospital opened its doors on 14th February 1852, with just 10 beds, 2 wards & 20 staff. Today, we have 353 beds, 38 wards & 2,700 staff, treating children from throughout the UK and world for a wide range of conditions. Although the running costs of the hospital are met by the NHS, the charity needs to raise over £50 million each year to fund, the latest specialist equipment, medical research, redevelopment and family accommodation. We want to ensure the hospital remains a world class specialist paediatric hospital, giving new hope to children suffering from complex and life-threatening conditions. Our philosophy is ‘the child first and always’. We perform 550 child heart operations, and a comparable number of heart-related non-surgical interventions, every year, more than any other children’s hospital in the world. |

| International Animal Rescue |
| International Animal Rescue (IAR) comes to the aid of wild and domestic animals with hands-on rescue and rehabilitation. We return rescued animals to the wild but also provide sanctuary for animals that can’t fend for themselves. We also assist government departments with the introduction and enforcement of sound legislation to protect animals from cruelty and neglect. IAR specialises in comprehensive sterilisation and inoculation programmes for stray dogs and cats, particularly in developing countries. We have offices in the UK and the US and ongoing projects in India, Indonesia and Malta. IAR works to educate the public on the compassionate and humane treatment of all animals. We use sound scientific evidence to inform our decisions and determine the course of our rescue operations. In all that we do we aim to find lasting solutions that benefit both animals and people. |

| NDCS Challenges |
NDCS Challenges run UK and international, individual and team charity challenge events to raise money for the National Deaf Children's Society, the only UK charity solely dedicated to the support of all deaf children, their families, and professionals working with them.
The NDCS vision is of a future without barriers for every deaf child.
The sponsorship money raised from these challenges will directly support the work of the National Deaf Children’s Society. NDCS is the only UK charity solely dedicated to the support of all deaf children and young people, their families and professionals working with them.
Three babies are born deaf in the UK every day and 90% of deaf children are born to hearing parents with little experience of deafness. Deafness makes it harder for children to learn to communicate and many families will face challenges in establishing good communication with their deaf child. |

The RSPB’s Homes for Wildlife is an exciting new activity, inspiring people to make a real difference for the wildlife that shares the open space closest to them - their garden. It aims to help a range of wildlife, including familiar birds that have seriously declined. By taking part in Homes for Wildlife, you can make a real difference to their fortunes and help to reverse the declines. We hope that thousands of you across the UK will be able to make your homes and gardens richer in wildlife by following the simple wildlife gardening advice that we provide.
You can do as much, or as little, as you like. From a few potted plants on a balcony, to putting up a nesting box, to digging a pond and planting trees in a garden – everything will help. All we need to make it work is you! 'With your help, we have the opportunity to help some of our best loved birds, including the house sparrow, starling and blackbird... '
Imagine what we can achieve for wildlife with hundreds of thousands of gardens all doing their bit. With your help, we have the opportunity to help some of our best loved birds, including the house sparrow, starling and blackbird, as well as the butterflies, dragonflies, frogs and bats (to name just a few) living on our doorstep. |
